This privacy policy states how I collect, handle and process data. All information is kept confidential and secure.
I currently collect and process the following information:
• Contact details and information such as email addresses, name of the student, name of the parents/guardian, telephone numbers and postal addresses and any past correspondence I may have had with you;
• Financial information such as invoices;
• Any health or medical conditions which you may be deem appropriate for me to be aware of in order for me to cater the lessons effectively;
How I collect and use personal information
Most of the personal information we process is provided to me directly by you for one of the following reasons:
• I will collect data from you directly when a request is made for lessons either via email, telephone call, text message or similar, or when you made a request through the student portal;
• From someone else on your behalf (eg. parent/guardian, or family member) who has provided us with your contact details with a view to us providing services;
• Administration purposes such as student login, lesson bookings, updating the calendar, and informing you of any changes/additions to lesson material, lesson feedback, payment reminders, additional advice such as equipment advice;
• Taking payment for lesson fees;
• Refund of lessons if applicable;
• Fulfilment of lessons;
• Cancellation/rearrangement of lessons;
• To allow you to access the student portal;
• Storing your details electronically on a secure private database, and on the database of My Music Staff, a specialised software platform for music teachers (policy can be found here https://www.mymusicstaff.com/privacy-policy/)
• Communication of any events that might be relevant to the learner;
I will not share or sell any personal information/data about you with any third party without your consent.
Retention of Data
• Data will only be processed while lessons are required and are usually maintained for seven years because they may be needed for this period for legal or tax reasons.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
